Over the past 15 years, the debt financing market has undergone significant changes, with new players challenging the dominance of traditional banks.

The independent Agency Service providers who emerged during that period have invariably ended up reproducing a model which they had originally built themselves against, somehow losing sight of the constantly evolving needs of stakeholders.

Boris BÉTRÉMIEUX

Co-founder, Managing Partner

Boris is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Altrium. He is a dual-qualified lawyer (UK Solicitor and French Avocat) with over 20 years of experience in the financial industry in London and Paris. He has a strong track record in managing restructuring transactions, including high-profile cases such as the Loan-to-Own strategy on Aluminium Dunkerque, Abengoa, Premier Oil, VGG and more recently Selecta. Boris possesses broad expertise across multiple financial products, including Leveraged Finance, Structured Finance, and Corporate M&A, and has successfully developed profitable Debt Financial Transaction Services operations in both London and Paris.

With a solid professional network across Europe and deep relationships with key stakeholders in the Private Debt industry, Boris combines legal precision with strategic insight to deliver robust, value-driven transaction solutions.

Tom MORETON

Senior Director – Business Development

Tom is the Senior Director – Business Development. He is a seasoned business development professional with over a decade of experience in the Commercial Real Estate and Financial Services sectors. He has worked with clients across the investment landscape, fostering strong relationships and delivering tailored, outcome-driven solutions. At Altrium, Tom is focused on expanding the firm’s presence in the UK market and demonstrating how the team is redefining client experience through innovation and service excellence.

A CBRE and SitusAMC alumnus, Tom brings a broad network and a deep understanding of client needs and industry challenges, enabling him to position Altrium as a trusted partner in the evolving financial and real estate transaction space.

Ajay KUMAR

Execution – Transaction Manager

Ajay is an Execution – Transaction Manager at Altrium. He is a CFA Charterholder with deep expertise in financial analysis, structured financing, and ethical financial practices. He has extensive experience managing all operational aspects of debt finance transactions across the UK and Continental Europe, including onboarding and KYC processes, comprehensive documentation reviews, and ongoing operational oversight. Ajay oversees the daily management of transaction lifecycles—covering drawdowns, calculations, notices, information sharing, and payments—ensuring seamless execution and strict compliance at every stage.

Prior to his current role, Ajay served as a Financial Analyst at UBS AG within the Investment Banking division, where he focused on valuation, financial reporting, and mid-office operations for the EMEA region. His analytical rigour and commitment to operational excellence underpin his reputation as a reliable and detail-oriented financial professional.

Clément COULOUMY

Business Development Senior Director and Directeur Général Altrium France

Clément Couloumy joined Altrium Financial Services as Senior Director, Business Development in November 2025. Based in London, he leads growth and client development across the UK and continental Europe, drawing on extensive experience in capital markets and loan agency services to strengthen Altrium’s European reach.

 

Previously, Clément was Director at GLAS (Global Loan Agency Services), where he played a key role in building and expanding the firm’s French and European business. Joining at an early stage, he helped transform the company from a boutique operation into a private equity–backed market leader, managing a high-performing team and securing a leading market share in France and the continent.

 

He also spent five years at BNP Paribas, focusing on Debt Capital Markets and Corporate Trust services, bringing a deep understanding of complex financing structures thanks to a background in derivatives and Global Markets.

Clément holds an Executive Master’s from the London School of Economics (LSE), a master’s and double degree from the University of Bordeaux, and brings an entrepreneurial, client-focused, and cross-cultural approach to driving Altrium’s continued growth in Europe.

Juan José ZAPATA

Execution – Transaction Manager

Juan José is an Execution – Transaction Manager at Altrium. Juan José is a Financial Engineer with an MSc in Financial Data Intelligence, combining strong quantitative foundations with hands-on experience in Private Debt operations across Europe. He manages the full lifecycle of complex debt transactions – including interest calculations, waivers, reporting, and payment coordination – ensuring accuracy and operational excellence throughout. His expertise spans multi-currency structures, leveraged buyouts, and project finance.

 

Before joining his current role, Juan José supervised the day-to-day execution of a portfolio of [number – 50?] private debt transactions, ensuring seamless operations and strict compliance with the documentation. He also streamlined core processes by developing data-driven tools that enhanced efficiency and reduced operational risks. His strong technical background allows him to combine quantitative analysis and technology to improve precision and scalability across transaction workflows.

Iain BARBOUR

Independent Non-Exec Director and Advisory Committee Member

Iain serves as Senior Independent Director at Financial Guaranty UK and has previously served as Independent Non-Executive Director of DBRS Morningstar’s Global Credit Ratings business and several other companies in financial services, infrastructure and social housing. He also contributes his expertise as a board member for two UK higher education providers and a leading UK charity.

With nearly 40 years of experience in global capital markets, Iain’s expertise spans infrastructure finance, securitisation, repo finance, and investor relations. Among his key achievements are the development of Bishopsfield Capital Partners’ Monitoring Advisory service, the structuring of Euroclear’s Triparty Repo platform, and the creation of some of Europe’s formative commercial real estate securitisations.

Mike JONES

Independent Non-Exec Director and Advisory Committee Member

Mike serves as Non-Executive Director of Brex UK and Advisor of AbbeyCross. He is an accomplished leader with over 25 years of experience in international digital payments and fintech innovation, having held senior roles across global technology companies and fintech startups. He specialises in building and leading high-performing teams, driving growth and international expansion, and embedding compliance as a value-added control within dynamic business environments.

Passionate about creating positive change, Mike brings strong energy, a collaborative mindset, and a deep commitment to values and integrity in every aspect of his leadership and innovation work.

Duncan SHERRIFFS

Duncan is a seasoned finance professional and leader with extensive senior-level relationships across the pan-European private equity, institutional credit investor, investment banking, and advisory communities. He has a strong track record in supporting companies through growth challenges and is recognized for his expertise in capital raising, stakeholder management, M&A, and operational and financial turnaround.

Duncan brings a combination of robust technical skills, strategic acumen, and leadership capabilities, contributing in both executive and non-executive roles.
